World´s biggest Offshore Simulator Centre opens in Perth, Australia

Offshore Simulator Centre AS has now completed the delivery of several advanced simulator solutions in Farstad Shipping´s new offshore training centre in Perth, Australia. The Norwegian Prime Minister, Jens Stoltenberg, will officially open the centre on Friday December 9th.

The centre is one of the biggest and most advanced offshore training centres in the world, with two Offshore Operation Simulators for Anchor Handling and Platform Supply Vessel operations, Crane Simulator, Winch Simulator, 4 Deck Personnel stations, Engine Room simulator and a complete Dynamic Positioning (DP) training facility.

The Offshore Operation Simulators from OSC consist of two “full mission offshore bridges” with 360 degree Field of Vision, located inside a large “dome” construction delivered by Spitz Inc. (USA). The visual system in the dome consists of 38 professional grade projectors from Projection Design (Norway). Together with OSC´s top-notch 3D graphics and next-to-real simulation functionality, the solution gives unprecedented realism for personnel being trained in the simulators.

The training concepts have been developed by OSC and Aalesund University College, and are recognized worldwide as the market-leading solution for team-based simulator training for offshore operations.
