DP Visualization
OSC provides visualization for Dynamic Positioning trainers from Rolls-Royce Marine, Kongsberg and Marine Technologies.
The OSC DP Display application provides a visual presentation of a 3D virtual environment.
Environmental parameters relevant for visual display can be controlled via a menu on the instructor station:
Year, Month, Day of month, Time, Time zone, Latitude, Longitude, Wind force, Wind direction, Precipitation, Cloud type, Thunder and Lightning, Haziness, Wave height.
The 3D virtual environment offered includes one “own” vessel and two “target models” from the OSC 3D model library.
- One Anchor Handling Vessel or Platform Supply Vessel
- One Semi-submersible Rig
- One land-base
OSC can also provide other 3D models of “own vessel” (the vessel used for DP simulation) at an agreed cost, based on available drawings and/or 3D model data that is made available.
The DP Display application is interfaced with the DP Trainer such that the 3D scene and vessel orientation & movement is synchronized with the DP system.
