Offshore Operation Simulator

Fully integrated training simulators for Anchor Handling and Platform Supply Vessel operations

The OSC Offshore Operation Simulator consists of a bridge solution, deck personnel stations, instructor stations and a briefing/de-briefing room solution.

This solution enables training of entire crews in performing offshore operations such as Anchor Handling and Platform Supply Vessel operations.

The solution can be configured in a large number of ways, depending on physical space and budget available. For optimal realizm OSC recommends a full bridge house with 360 degree visualization, but the system can also be configured with simpler display solutions.

Bridge equipment of more or less "any kind" kan be interfaced, enabling the simulators to be set up according to customer specifications. Typical bridge house solutions are equipped with the following main systems:

  • Maneuvering chair/controls
  • Propulsion controls
  • Conning/instruments
  • Winch chair/control system
  • AH Navigation system
  • Radar
  • ECDIS
  • CCTV
  • Radio Communication (VHF)

For Anchor Handling and Supply Vessel operations the simulator also includes dedicated deck personnel stations, with the following functionality:

  • Move freely around on deck
  • Use relevant tools and equipment, including deck winches
  • Connect/disconnect lines, wires, chains
  • Perform inspection of specific items
  • Communicate with bridge (VHF)

The instructor station has the following main functionality:

  • Select & control the actual training scenario
  • Change environmental settings such as weather, wave hight, wind, current
  • Impose relevant alarms or fault conditions
  • Control rig winch and rig crane (if not controlled via separate stations/simulators)
  • Control sound system and radio communication
  • Monitor simulator positions via web-cameras, including dynamic camera control

The briefing-/de-briefing room is equipped with projectors and sound system that enables:

  • Monitoring of the simulator scenario
  • Monitoring of simulator positions via web-cameras, including dynamic camera control
  • Monitoring of radio communication
